My toilet overflowed what do I do?

 Luckily for the majority of homes and businesses overflows and floods do not happen very often. The important thing is knowing how to properly deal with flood disaster situations.


The first thing to do is shut the water off! Many people do not know where or how to do that. The second part is assessing the situation and knowing the severity of the damage.


Water can damage the seal of the flooring especially in your kitchen or bathroom. It is crucial that you have a professional look at the damage to ensure further damage and prevent the walls and floors from molding. Any time there is more than an inch of water caught in a room it can damage seals and wood flooring underneath tile, the moisture can trap itself between the layers of the flooring and sub flooring.
